New Project Newsletter launched

January 2020 saw the launch of a new Hawick Flood Protection Scheme newsletter.  To be delivered to every household in the TD9 postcode area, the newsletter will be published quarterly.  It is designed to keep local people and businesses up-to-speed with progress on this vital civil engineering project which will do so much to protect Hawick from the damaging floods which have been a fact of life for the town throughout much of its history.

As the Scheme progresses in the months and years ahead, the newsletter will contain update articles not just on the construction works and traffic management issues, but also on topics such as environmental protection, public artworks, community initiatives, schools events and the creation of the exciting new Active Travel Network which is an integral part of the overall Flood Protection Scheme.

Through the newsletter and the Scheme’s website, members of the public are invited to make suggestions as to other articles they may wish to see included from time to time.  We hope you like the newsletter and find it interesting and useful.
