Community Engagement & Placemaking
One of the most important parts of the Active Travel Network are various key landscaped areas for the community to enjoy, convenient bike parking and links to local amenities known as Placemaking.
Active Travel and Placemaking contribute to the Scottish Government’s aim for a healthier, environmentally sustainable nation with strong communities; which is what the Project Team and Sustrans are striving to achieve in Hawick.
The Project has received excellent input from the town through our consultation process. This has been invaluable in ensuring the enhancements made through placemaking reflect what the people of Hawick want for their town.
